The Bears are storied and are one of the most iconic teams in pro sports.

On the other hand the Cardinals are the Washington Generals of pro sports.  They are set up only to be knocked down. The players are transitory, faceless with no connection or sentimentality to community (unlike say the Suns and the Dbacks and even the Coyotes).  The poshness and allure of the $500 million University of Phoenix stadium can only hold fans so much when they have never captured anyone's heart.
