Last night's episode made new fans out of several of my coworkers who have until now been ambivalent.

Mr. Eko's back story was easily one of the most compelling of all the characters.  And the actor playing him is just fantastic.  Last night really made you feel for him, as well as fear him.  Who else could have possibly stared down the monster like that?  (Yes, folks, they showed the monster last night.)

Also, they did the unthinkable and gave Charlie back some depth of character.  Who knew he'd been sneaking around?

Also, confirmed on CNN this morning: there were, in fact, flashes of actual images in the tracking shot that went through the monster.  It shows images from the past of any person it comes across.  I'm hoping stills land on the Net today, though CNN is running video of it in slo-mo.  The real question is why it didn't take down Eko.  I'm betting because he didn't fear it.

Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje is just a hell of an actor.  He was amazing in Oz and I like that he's really given some room to act here.  He's usually cast as the "Big African Muscle"

Holy fuck for fuck.  DO NOT GIS that phrase.

In celebration of tonight's new episode, here is a link to one person's theory of what is going on.  I don't know if it's right or wrong, but it's well researched enough for me to believe they've gotten at least part of it right.  If that's so, be ready for spoilers.

The cop's ID# is 6t351321321

I looked at that briefly as well.  I wonder if there is any significance.  Don't hexadecimal numbers start with 6t?  Or something like that?

Hexadecimal numbers make me feel very, very stupid.

Jessie

I need to download the last three episodes.
we should have kept the quote pyramid up to rape Jessie in the face.

A common notation is for hexadecimal numbers to start with "0x" or end with an h.  The digits used in hex are 1-9,a-f.  But "6t" could be a hint for 16, and hexadecimal is base-16.

351321321 => 0x14F0BCE9
or
0x315321321 => 14247138081

Not sure I see anything special there...

except that maybe FalloutBoy is behind the whole thing.

I was so going to say that.  Hexadecimal numbers are so basic and simple.

So are these people that are on this show!  It's crazy!  Their plane crashed on this "deserted" island - only it's not deserted.  There are "others" and a monster and stuff.  Gripping tale, I tell you.  You should check it out.
