Miss Molly

You know how cats like to bring their owners presents, right?  Right.

Since March of this year when I moved back home, and my cat gained access to the great outdoors, she has started honing her skills as a huntress.  It started off with birds.  First there was a chickadee.  Then a sparrow.  There have been about half a dozen blue birds.  There was once a robin.  Then she started with the mammals.  First a chipmonk.  Then a squirrell.  Then a flying squirrell.  Last week there was a shrew.  I had never seen a shrew before, but for those of you who don't know, a shrew is like a miniature mole.

The critter that she drug in tonight takes the cake.  A BAT.  AN HONEST TO GOD LIVE BAT.

Doesn't that just beat all?

Did it start flying around the house and stuff?

"Pinky, are you pondering what I'm pondering?"
I think so, Brain, but how will we get the Spice Girls into the paella?

Are blue birds different than bluejays?

If your cat brings home an opossum, I'll really be impressed.

Beefy

Nice to hear from you, Molly.  :)

Some people just proclaim their happiness at others' returns in the wrong threads.  Schmucks.

Miss Molly

She had it cornered under a table that had some unframed pictures standing on their sides leaning against it.  I pulled her away long enough for it to fly out of the corner.  It flew over to the bed and perched there for a minute.  Then it flew up at me while I was holding the cat.  Oh she was freaking out, she wanted it so bad.  My mom ran in the room with a broom and started swatting at it while it was flying around.  She pinned it down on the floor with the broom; I threw the cat out of the room and ran to get a tupperware bowl that I trapped it under.  The whole time she was screaming, "don't let it bite you! They carry rabies!!"

My mom handed me a magazine that I slid under the tupperware bowl to carry the thing outside.

No photos, sorry. :(  But I swear to god.. A BAT!!
