11:42:24 [Gamplayerx] I keep getting knocked up.
11:42:28 [Gamplayerx] Er. OUT!

Oh, and the Stones...

Sorry, but not good.

Better than Janet/Justin or Aerosmith/Britney/Nelly half times shows, but that doesn't really mean anything.

Richards' playing was sloppy.  Jagger didn't have the wind to complete full lines (or just didn't bother trying).  The crowd enthusiasm was unconvincing.

If the best reaction you can get is off the fact that they've been doing it for four decades, well... that's not saying a lot.

IMO, the one to beat is still U2 playing the first SuperBowl after 9/11.  That halftime show both soared and rocked.

who else should have gotten mvp?  they all sucked
and the stones stage was cool
Some people look at jerky and say, "Why?"  I look at jerky and say, "Mmm! Jerky!"

Wilford Brimley!  He managed to keep a straight face the whole time he coached his Seahawks into the crapper.

the stage was cool, but I thought the Stones were lame.
A clever man commits no minor blunders.

The FedEx commercial was great.  I liked the one where the dude tackled the chick and then she retaliates at the bar.

The game was pretty meh.  The 75 yard return was awesome, as was the gadget play from hell, but otherwise the only thing that the Steelers really had going for them was that Seattle was sucking just a tiny bit more than they were.

V for Vendetta needs to come out already.

Yes, yes, yes, and yes, the gadget play was fantastic!!  That's called a "double tight, strong toss, reverse pass".  Plus the fact that it was thrown by Antwaan Randle El, a former Indiana Hoosier qb, made it all the more enjoyable because the guy was so fun to watch in his college days.

It was a closely contested grudgematch that really suprised me with how much actual defense was involved.  Neither team made many mistakes but there were a few and they proved costly-especially for Seattle with two pics and that long TD they gave up.

It's often said that at this level, the athleticism is so great, the coaching is so strong and the experience level is so high that the only thing that separates champions from chumps is a handful of mistakes.  It's like a lesser version of Thunderdome where two men enter, one man leaves, and death takes the first man who screams.

I'm happy to see Cowher get his ring.  He's a class guy who epitomizes all the classic things I love about football.  His teams are tough, physical, beat you up kind of teams that usually run the ball well, make smart passes and play aggressive in your face kind of defense.  I'm happy to see Bettis get his ring.  He's had a pretty good career all in all.  And I really like Roethlesberger.  I can't believe the kind of success he's had so early in his career.  I remember, just a couple years ago, watching him in college in a couple late season games at Miami of Ohio.  I remember thinking that he'd make a good fit on my Dolphins squad because he was tall, strong armed, seemed very poised, and was suprisingly mobile for a guy his size 6-4, 240 back then(I think he's slimmed down a bit since).

In all, it's been a good season.  With all the bells and whistles that offenses like Indy and Seattle offer up, it's still a game about offensive and defensive line battles, tough defense, hard tackling, and smart but not too smart offensive strategies.  I think the old adage is true for at least one more season, "Offenses sell tickets and put fannies in the seats, but defenses win championships!!"

I can't wait till next year!!  It's only 6 miserable months away.

If the Seahawks had played like they should have at the end of the second half, they would have won.  Because they had Matthew Lillard on their side.

I thought the game sucked.
16:15:43 [Gamplayerx] Juneau, I could really go for some pie. You better Belize it!

GO STEELERS!

I thought Hines Ward deserved the MVP.  The Bus did well, but Hines Ward really won it.

I am glad they won.

Jessie

I saw bits and pieces.  I had to work.
we should have kept the quote pyramid up to rape Jessie in the face.

I enjoyed the game, largely because it wasn't a complete blowout.

That said, the superbowl halftime show has no purpose and shouldn't exist.  It's gotten ridiculous, and even this year when they tried to make it less so, it was just as bad.  I mean, a 150 foot tongue logo stage with vari*lites and monitors all around it that has to be assembled and struck rapidly-Especially when the band is no longer good-is just pissing money away.
