11:42:24 [Gamplayerx] I keep getting knocked up.

Sad.  Calls to mind Korey Stringer too.  I wish we knew more about why so as to prevent that sort of tragedy but so far the initial autopsy reports are inconclusive as to the exact cause of death.

Pray for his family, they'll need it for some time.

Quit making them more (or less) than human.
I was just wondering...

Should we just see them as grossly overpaid entertainers   ( i hesitate to call them atheletes..)

I hadn't even thought of it that way. I was angling more toward the fact that in order to compete most of them must do things to their bodies that aren't terribly healthy. But yeah, getting paid millions to play a childs game is kind of silly. I take sports reasonably seriously, helps teach things etc. But (just as an example) Barry Bonds doesn't seem to have learned much about teamwork or sacrifice. Shit, the man had a chance to drive a dagger into the hopes of the LA/NY/Caracas/Lagos/Moscow Angels of Anaheim/Pacoima/East Palo Alto, and he dropped the damn ball! (I'm still laughing at that play, useless schmuck.)

Good point Marixis...

I personally have no issue with sports or the players.  I'm not athletic in any form.  I guess to me an athelete is more of someone who excells at the sport, shows a true love of the sport, and is a semi respectable role model to kids. ( yeah, they say they dont want to be seen as such, but get real, if your in front of 10,000 people several times a week, someone is bound to look up to you somehow.  Dads know this with their own kids.  They dont plan to be role models, it just happens)  But when you show more effort in increasing your bankroll rather than enjoying or playing your sport (IMHO)  you've lost the title athlete and became an entertainer.
