I agree about american beauty. Hated it.

what a pretentious pile of crap and I actually like pretentious piles of crap

i haven't seen Crash but I heard enough of the above comments to avoid it

I liked AB because it was about a guy who was fed up with his life and finally did something about it.  I can relate to it pretty well sometimes.  And the pretension didn't bother me too much this time.  But it usually does get to me in films.

all his problems seemed way overwrought.  How can you be relatable to the everyman when the situation is so contrived!?

I liked the idea of everyday existential angst (even though its way overdone), but it should have been much more low key

here we go

I like British humor. (humour)
I just didn't feel it was subtle and wry.  It beat you on the face with its humor.

It had some funny parts but overall I was extremely disappointed

I loved MPatsftHG!!  Quoting it with friends is even more fun!!

Life of Brian was also very entertaining.

i love the quotable films, the smart controlled absurdity of early Simpsons absolutely directly credits Monty Python.  I know its influence on many things I find funny, and I really really really wanted to like it, but I just couldn't.

Thats the way I feel about Fawlty Towers.  I want to like it but it just doesn't do anything for me.

Damn, you are lonely.

Holy Grail introduced me to a type of humor I had never seen before. I've seen it more than any other movie and I still love watching it. I can quote the whole movie, with voices, from start to finish. And I'm not saying I think maybe I can, in high school me and a friend actually did it to see if we could, with another friend reading along with the script to make sure we got it right. No, I never got laid in high school.

i recognize that fact technically, but cannot concede to it emotionally.

Can we be friends legally, but have a hollow sham of a relationship and just put up a front for others?
