ok i'm sort of embarrassed to admit this but hopefully I'm wrong:

The banana chick was monkey girl, a contestant from the 2nd season of 'who wants to be a super hero'.  She was eliminated in the first episode I think so it's pretty funny that she's showing up at cosplay events.  Probably was at a comicon actually.
