I'd forgotten how much I like it.

I've avoided juices for so long due to my insides, but the doctor told me that I need to start drinking some (as well some food) throughout the day as I take my medication.  I have rediscovered grape juice and now grapefruit juice.  I'm still too scared to try orange juice.

Orange juice can act as a trigger for my Crohn's.  It's on the no-no list.  Other juices, in my experience, are negligible.  But I still try to keep with small quantities.

Okay, serious answer without getting into unfortunate specifics.

Cuisine like Mexican or Chinese or the like I can usually eat without having an "attack", but they come with other concerns that may still leave me homebound for a time.

Orange juice, coconut, and Taco Bell (which is not really Mexican, but an evil unto itself) are triggers for an attack, an abrupt inflammation and sharp pain and discomfort that comes when inflamed organs start pressing up against nerve endings.

If I eat squash or eggplant, I will most assuredly barf.  Not because they cause me pain, but because they're DISGUSTING.

medical and food science can't pin-point the exact ingredient that triggers your nerves to sink Atlantis?

To hear the doctors within the states, a cure is possible within my lifetime but unlikely to be made available publicly.

To hear doctors in Europe and Canada, there is already a decent cure, with a more surefire one due within the next ten years or so, but all attempts to get it past the FDA for U.S. testing have been blocked.

I thought you weren't supposed to combine medications and grapefruit juice.

I hadn't heard that.

I went through the warning list I got for these pills and made sure that nothing I was currently taking conflicted with them.  I didn't think to look for grapefruits, though.

Gamplayerx

I don't know that that is a comprehensive list.  I also don't know what you take.  Sorry about the viagra.

Beefy

I didn't realize that there was something called an immunosuppressant, but I'd like to find someone who needs one and kick them in the ding-ding.

Jessie

Maybe they have an overactive immune system that's attacking healthy cells.

Way to be insensitive, Beefy.  Gosh.
we should have kept the quote pyramid up to rape Jessie in the face.

Alice

What about White Cranberry juice?  That shit is good.

JJ

Grapefruit has terpenes in it!!111

...there's a brand of juices called Ceres that are all fantastic. Of particular not is their "Hanepoot white grape juice," despite the gay name.

pumpkineye

I would recommend blueberry/pomegranate juice.  There is a brand called "True." or something that makes it, and it is damn tastey.  Not too acidic, so maybe ok for you.  Also blueberries are full of nutrients.

I love pomegranate juices, especially the blueberry variants!  Alas, I can only drink them at home when I don't have too much else going on.

I should clarify that when I buy a small bottle, I only takes sips from it over an extended period of time.  I can't slug it down.  I do slug down the Pom Teas, though.  More than one of those and I have the same issues as inferred above.

Alice

Have you tried Diet Coke Plus?   ;D
