My local radio station is following suit with March Madness.  They've taken some popular bands and play 3 songs for each matchup.  Then the listeners vote for the winner.  Here's the bracket so far.

I'm in a contest with this dude at work about it.  It sucks cuz I have to pick the people I think will win, not the ones that *should* win.  As you can see by the ones that have already won... a lot of them make me say wtf?

I've never heard of most of those bands.
"Pinky, are you pondering what I'm pondering?"
I think so, Brain, but how will we get the Spice Girls into the paella?

It may just be the acronyms that are confusing me.  Who are:

RHCP
Prodigy
Local H
Killers 311
STP
QOTSA
Chevelle
APC
The Fray
MCR

How the hell could System of a Down beat the Violent Femmes?  Ridiculous.

Blister in the sun is fantastic.

Dazie, you're not emo enough to know those bands, I think.
we should have kept the quote pyramid up to rape Jessie in the face.

Blister in the sun is total crap, and no one knows what the fuck it means.

Dazie, you're not lame enough to know those bands, I think.

It's true.

According to lead singer Gordon Gano, this song is not about masturbation as popularly thought. He wrote this song about a girl he had a crush on in high school. Gordon was sensitive about his small hands, and on the first day of school a girl came up to him, held his hands in the air, and exclaimed, "Look what small hands he has!" So, he wrote the song from the perspective of a girl lusting after a boy with big hands. This explains the "big hands I know you're the one" line.[1]

HAHA that sounds like a big bunch of BS to me.

VikingJuice

A lot of shitty current pop bands are beating more established quality bands.  Must be a young radio audience.  No self-respecting rocker over 25 would vote for a lot of that shit.

Alice

Today, Queens of the Stone Age beat out STP.

I don't get kids these days.
