04/12/07 - Congrats to dots for snatching the real 200,000th post! Riding on her coattails, I guess we can spare some kudos to Jessie for the less real 200,000th post.

despite all the baggage of being big  Willie, I thought the movie was one of his best in recent times.   It was brisk enjoyable and had a pretty good tonal shift in the middle.  (though the details of said shift seemed rushed, I bet the uncut version will flow better).

I thought the ending was cheesy and Hollywood and will smith as all hell though.  they should have ended the movie with him flying off injured, but clearly recovering.

BigDun

I saw it yesterday. I thought it was OK. Not great, but not too bad by any means. And Charlize Theron is hot.

everytime i've seen her in a bit movie: (two days in the valley, italian job, reindeer games, aeo flux etc. etc.) I never quite realize its her.  I just think man that actress is really a cut above in the looks department  and THEN the realization its charlize.

Alice

That's because all white women look the same to you.

I think she is one of the most beautiful actresses in the history of cinema.  While the movie Bagger Vance wasn't all that special, it's the best I've ever seen Theron look.  She was dressed in these 1920's glam outfits and just looked so beautiful, so elegant and so freakin' sexy.

Beefy

Oddly, I can't generate any interest in this flick.

Knowing the production history and outline of the original script just leaves me cold on this one.

Which I don't knock.  Your opinions matter, actually.  But for this one I think I'll wait for DVD.  At the very least, I'm behind enough that I would have to prioritize several things before paying to see it - Hulk, Kung Fu Panda, Wall-E, Strangers, Mongol...

half of kung fu panda and wall-e were awesome.  i hope i get to finish them.

strangers had a strong start but was subpar.

Jessie

Oh, here it is.

I disagree with you all.  Except that Charlize is hot.  I forgot she was even in this.

I have Wall-E here, too, but haven't watched it yet.  I'm going to have to watch it on my laptop because the PS2 won't play it and my dvd player died.

Beefy

I watched Hancock recently.  It was positively awful.  A good idea gone way, way bad.

The first half hour of Wall-E depressed me.  I haven't tried watching more yet.

Alice

I love Wall-E.  Probably my favorite kids movie in a long, long time.  Though it was kind of cathartic for me in a stupid way, so that might have something to do with it.

Jessie

We absolutely loved Wall E.  It was very sad and sweet and funny.

Loved Wall-E, even bought it and loved it again on the second viewing.  Kung Fu Panda should have been called Suck Fu Crap.  I turned it off after about 30 minutes because I was bored.  I guess Jack Black annoys me even in voice work.
