So, if you are making a new technology, like, say, Serial ATA, wouldn't you find a way to install it WITHOUT USING A FSKING FLOPPY DISK?

My computer doesn't have a floppy drive, but I doubt they make much for Macs anyway.
Underneath this flabby exterior is an enormous lack of character.

macs are computers that you pay extra for and becuase of that they ACTUALLY work.

And you can fix most problems with them by just pitching loose change at them.  Which is a bonus.

you have to install the drivers via the floppy drive to install Windows, hence no downloading from the intraweb.

I haven't built any computers since I started purchasing about 10 months ago. I'm building 3 today because the tech's are backed up and all 3 are giving me grief with drivers.

If you don't want to use the floppy method, or you plan on doing a few more installs this way, you might burn a copy of the cd, and do this:

How to Add OEM Plug and Play Drivers to Windows Installations

Dude, floppy drives are teh ch34p.  Plus, you work in a computer store.  There's bound to be one lying around somewhere.

Besides, IBM hates America for many reasons other than making a floppy drive a necessity.  They have the nuts of every single mainframe user in their vice due to licensing and support contract requirements.  And there are a helluva lot of mainframe users out there. 

Too bad MicroFocus' "lift and shift" technology doesn't work with IMS.

yes, but when you are trying to break a record on systems completed/hours billed it really sucks to have to find and install a damn floppy drive.

take it you can have it.   farming is a dying past time.  cant survive with it cant make any money from it.   Kinda like teaching.  You dont do it for the money, you do it for the enjoyment or hope of bettering the people.
