Question:
What should I name my new dog (if the fostering turns into an adoption)?
Option 1: Roscoe (despite its lack of originality)
votes: 1
Option 2: Fortunato (despite its many syllables)
votes: 0
Option 3: Buddy (because that's going to stick if we don't find something else soon)
votes: 1
Option 4: Pie! (don't pick this one, that won't be helpful at all)
votes: 0
Option 5: Something else (preferably referencing a good book or movie)
votes: 3
Help!
I'm telling you he looks like a Roscoe dammit.
He also looks like a Norman, Simon, Geraldo, Turk, Hewie, whatupdog, Mr Waggletons, Chuck, Bing, Rupert, Kramer, Vinny, Peanut, and Rowdy. (turk and rowdy are from scrubs which I happen to be watching right now).
Elliot is a good name too.
Also Janitor.
Whatever you do, don't name it Buddy. That is the dumbest dog name ever.
Literary names:
Marvin - HHGTTG
Watson - Sherlock Holmes
Iago - Othello
Doctor Butts - Henry VIII
MacDuff - Macbeth
Mercutio - Romeo & Juliet
Edward - Jane Eyre
Holden - Catcher in the Rye
Yuri - Dr. Zhivago
Marlowe - The Big Sleep
Sebastian - Brideshead Revisited
Grendel - Grendel
Charlie - The Heart of Darkness
Or if you want to go with awesome other references:
Ash - Evil Dead
Joel - ESOTSM
Dae-Su - Oldboy
Barfolomew - Spaceballs
Or how about Bob?
(I still think he looks like a Zeke.)
If you name him Charlie, I will stick your hand in warm water every night when you sleep at my house.

Then I'm double voting for Charlie.

Hahaha I just want to be able to say, "Oh Amber. Last night, Charlie climbed into bed with me. He was so warm and we cuddled all night long. Then he humped my leg."
Also, he kinda looks like Rowdy from Scrubs, but I don't want to curse him into being dead and stuffe3d.
Wilbur
Frank or Frankie
Gus
Chase (will be good if he runs after cars)
Claude
Edger (men in black, I just love how his wife said his name, sounded like Egger)
Also Orion, the cat with the galaxy.
Kruger
Oooh, name him Tikki Tikki Tembo-No Sa Rembo-Chari Bari Ruchi-Pip Peri Pembo.
He kind of looks like a Seamus too.
I want to get an English Bulldog named Briggs. But I don't think you'd be as keen on the name Briggs as I am.
I call my friend's new puppy "Poops Ahoy" which he responds to. That's a good name as well.

That will back fire as I would ask to watch cause I get off on that.
Name him Indiana.
I think I'll call him Sue.
Also, PE I <3 your avatar so much. I can't stop watching it.
Maybe I'll name him Everett from O Brother.
Then maybe he'll turn into George Clooney while I sleep.

Phideaux.
Because that's like Fido, but spelled out all French-like but you pronounce it FIDO. (Just saying it before someone else feels the need to explain it.)

Ooooh, I like that name. Then you can get some chickens and train him to round them up. Then you can call people up and ask them if they want to come see Everett coop.
(It's like C. Everett Koop who was the surgeon general for awhile.)
haha I hate you a little.
That means I don't like you.

So by not liking me, you mean that you're not always okay with who I am as a person or how I react to things? I suppose that's understandable. I don't think we're all meant to not "I hate you a little" to someone now or then. Though with the climate the way it is, I think life may be too short to not try and turn around the Canadian economy and learn to like each other a little bit more. At least that's what my ex-boyfriend and I always said. I think it still holds true to not "hate you a little" as much as possible.

we had a retarded cat name phideaux, which we called pah-hidy-ox. She would hiss at chairs and then run into walls, it was sad and amusing.

I love these. I won't use them, but I love them. Love them, which is the opposite of how I feel about alice.

seconded, mr. beefy
How about Boris from rocky and bullwinkle?
I feel pretty set on Everett, if I can get Timothy on board.
If I named him anything from Rocky and Bullwinkle, it'd probably be Bullwinkle. That might be a good backup idea.

Don't hate the playa, hate the game.
(Playa also means 'beach' in Spanish, but in this case it is being used as slang for 'player' which means a person who is competitive and gregarious by nature. Though I would also recommend not hating the beach. The beach is a fantastic place to relax.)
Also, I think he might be kind of sweet and lumbering and dumbish like Bullwinkle.

Or Winkle. Half for bullwinkle, half for rip van.

Then you could tell timothy to go clean up that bullshit out back, and chuckle about the pun.

Ha! There's this group called Eli (Emerging Leadership Initiative) that tries to get people to start churches.
I used to have a Basset Hound named Roscoe. Gosh that was a stupid dog.
I'd call him Roman Maroney. That way, when he pees on the floor and you call him a "Fargin' Bastage," he'll know what you mean.

he looks like a fucking lunatic. call him roofpig. or mr pants. he's the kind of dog that actually will end up with more than one name over time.
(and i say that as someone who adores lunatic dogs)
p.s. i think fostering has already made him your dog. that's how i ended up with willie. i mean really - go ahead. imagine him living with someone else. right. now pick a name.
CALL HIM ORKUT.

the dog looks like guy faux
His coloring is similar to the Duds.
I love his spotty feet so much!
I do, too, except for where my arms are covered with bruises from being kicked by them. He's a jumper. Must break him of that.
All the cool kids are doing it.
Meet the mutt who is for the moment called Libby. (until about 10 minutes ago she was Polly- this is what happens when the 12 yr old is picking the name)
Got to church this morning and this pup was outside, happily accosting all comers. Another woman and Kate and I took her to the shelter, as she's young and isn't one of the dogs that lives directly near the church. I said to the lady at the intake desk that if nobody claimed the dog to let me know, as I'd take her. So, rather than do a full intake, they just took the dog's info (5 months, female, probably Border Collie x Aussie Shepherd) took my info and sent her home with us. She'll stay with us until someone claims her. The lady at the shelter said if we didn't get a call in 3-5 days then we pretty much have a new dog.
She's a total doll. Zeus is losing his furry little mind. I think they'll do well together once they get used to each other. That is- if she isn't claimed.

Better-ish shot. She's just a teeny little thing.

aww very cute. Aussie shep and collie mix, I don't think she'll calm down for years.
She's pretty relaxed all things considered, although she and Zeus went at it- they're both deathly afraid of the dishtowel now. (hey- I'm a hoopy frood- I know where my towel is)
We had a Border Collie mix before- we think maybe mixed with Akita or Aussie Shepherd. She was big like an akita, but other than that looked just like a BC. *shrug* Who knows. She was by far the best dog in the world.
aww she's cute! And Tiny.
Here's Everett out hiking today:

Excellent burrs. We just gave Polly/Libby a bath and now she's I THINK finally de-burred.
