You are stuck in a room and have to get out. This isn't new, but you may not have run across it before.
The Crimson Room (http://www.fasco-csc.com/works/crimson/crimson_e.php)
Edited to fix link.

Whoops! Sorry. http://www.fasco-csc.com/works/crimson/crimson_e.php
Don't play the one on ebaums world - fasco changed the game so ebaums won't work all the way through.
I am shut up.
The URL on the piece of paper doesn't lead anywhere.

That's the change that fasco made and why I posted not to play the version on ebaums world - I was just too late in posting that. I'm sorry.
the url on fasco doesn't seem to work either, perhaps I am reading it wrong?
ok, got it, I did read it wrong
it's http://takagism.fasco-cs.com/yellow_chamber.html

Is it the battery? That one took me forever to find.
hee hee I got out. yay!
Yay, nallen!!
nope. i've got the battery, the weird box, the cd case, the cassette, both rings, the extension cord, three keys and the url. the two rings are sitting in their appropriate spots on the weird box and the cd player is plugged in. that's where i am.
*shakes fish at addictive clicky clicky!!*

Ah. You need the piece of chalk or whatever it is.
It's between the mattress and the headboard.

a small box of a mistery. heh. I LOVE ENGRISH!
It's the metal rod she is missing. The head board of the bed, between it and the matress she should look.
looking and looking, the metel of piece is found here. the mistery box is will open.
Did you finish, Nishi?
no, i got distracted by housework and dogs, but not before i saw the dancing and dancing!
by the way - i'm hoping i don't need sound to solve this, because this desktop had its soundcard ripped out quite a while ago....
You don't need sound, the dancer points the way...
I love his little dance, I wish I could figure out how to make a gif of that.
i'm stuckker than i thought then, since that takes me back to the empty cd player.
of course, it would help if THESE DOGS WOULD STOP BARKING.
it's saturday. time for a dog party!
Open and close the mistery box again to watch the dance again, at the very end, Mr. Danceydancemeister points at something. Maychance clicking around there once the movie ends will do something?
that's what i've been doing, clicking and clicking on the little pointer of the dancer once it appears at the end of the dance.
i have a glitch.
*shakes mistery fish*
The crosshairs aren't exactly in the right spot, edge up and to the right the teensiest bit.
i'm not sure it's worth quite this much clicking. i mean - i don't usually have difficulty with the clicking. on the crosshair, slightly off the crosshair in every conceivable direction.....
after watching him dance roughly 35 times, i have come to conclusion that in order to solve this, i will need to play on a different computer.....
how very very annoying.
actually, what's annoying is that i'm so stubborn that i will actually go play through this on another, less.... cobbled together computer that is a bit more precise.
I was kind of hoping a monster would be behind the door and would eat me when I finally got it open.
35 times? You should have the dance down pat - I demand to see it when we meet.
After all of that clicking that's all there is to it? Sheesh! Talk about anti-climactic!
Don't make me smite you, or post an even less rewarding game!
I suppose I should just be happy with the experience, right?
That's right, grasshopper! Plus, I want nishi to dance!

As many times as she's seen the dance she should be able to do it from memory. That part was probably the hardest to get right, but once I discovered I was too quick on the draw it made sense.
I AM GOING TO SEE THIS DANCE IN MY SLEEP.
goddammit.

You haven't gotten past the dance?
no. thanks for asking.
i click... and i go right back to the cd player. i hate that cd player with a hot and furious passion.
I don't understand that, Nishi. The wall is no where near the cd player.
When are you clicking the crosshair? I had that same problem.
i know. it seems to be just dumping me back into the room the way it does when you're examining what you've found and then click to return to the room.
the red room hates me.
i've tried clicking it the first and second times when he points to it. and i think there was even a third one i waited for a couple of times. i'm only clicking when the crosshairs are visible.

Ah. Put your mouse over the crosshairs and then wait until the movie is over and click there (but slightly to the right and up).
there needed to be a monster.....
(THANK YOU FOR THE ASSISTS!!)

So you got out?
yes! i finally made it out. i'd be in there for a jillion years though if HE GAMP: THE HAMPLA and reburn hadn't explained the fine points of clicking.
I can't open the safe. :'( I got the 4 numbers, but they didn't work. Now I've watched the damn dancing guy about 20 times, and keep clicking on the wrong place.
Nishi, I share your loathing for the CD player.
what do you mean the numbers didn't work?
and you have to wait until the movie is really over before you click.

I did. I'm at the safe, I put in the numbers from that other URL and it didn't open.
I gave up for now.

?? the numbers I saw were 6604. Hrm.
That was IT? I sat here for hours and all it took was breaking the damn knob off??
Feh. I coulda done that with one of the stereo speakers.
Thanks for the help. :)
They changed the code several times during the day. I had to go back and restart the whole thing to enter a new code so I could finish the game.
