Title: The Crimson Room
Post by: Gamplayerx on March 12, 2005, 02:23:38 PM
You are stuck in a room and have to get out.  This isn't new, but you may not have run across it before.

The Crimson Room (http://www.fasco-csc.com/works/crimson/crimson_e.php)

Edited to fix link.

Whoops!  Sorry.  http://www.fasco-csc.com/works/crimson/crimson_e.php

Don't play the one on ebaums world - fasco changed the game so ebaums won't work all the way through.

That's the change that fasco made and why I posted not to play the version on ebaums world - I was just too late in posting that.  I'm sorry.

It's the metal rod she is missing.  The head board of the bed, between it and the matress she should look.

Title: Re: The Crimson Room
Post by: nishi on March 12, 2005, 07:55:46 PM
no, i got distracted by housework and dogs, but not before i saw the dancing and dancing!

by the way - i'm hoping i don't need sound to solve this, because this desktop had its soundcard ripped out quite a while ago....
Title: Re: The Crimson Room
Post by: Gamplayerx on March 12, 2005, 07:56:33 PM
You don't need sound, the dancer points the way...

I love his little dance, I wish I could figure out how to make a gif of that.

i'm stuckker than i thought then, since that takes me back to the empty cd player.

of course, it would help if THESE DOGS WOULD STOP BARKING.

it's saturday. time for a dog party!

Open and close the mistery box again to watch the dance again, at the very end, Mr. Danceydancemeister points at something.  Maychance clicking around there once the movie ends will do something?
Title: Re: The Crimson Room
Post by: nishi on March 12, 2005, 08:08:38 PM
that's what i've been doing, clicking and clicking on the little pointer of the dancer once it appears at the end of the dance.

i have a glitch.

*shakes mistery fish*

The crosshairs aren't exactly in the right spot, edge up and to the right the teensiest bit.
Title: Re: The Crimson Room
Post by: nishi on March 12, 2005, 08:17:05 PM
i'm not sure it's worth quite this much clicking. i mean - i don't usually have difficulty with the clicking. on the crosshair, slightly off the crosshair in every conceivable direction.....
Title: Re: The Crimson Room
Post by: nishi on March 12, 2005, 08:44:33 PM
after watching him dance roughly 35 times, i have come to conclusion that in order to solve this, i will need to play on a different computer.....

how very very annoying.

actually, what's annoying is that i'm so stubborn that i will actually go play through this on another, less.... cobbled together computer that is a bit more precise.

35 times?  You should have the dance down pat - I demand to see it when we meet.

After all of that clicking that's all there is to it?  Sheesh!  Talk about anti-climactic!

As many times as she's seen the dance she should be able to do it from memory.  That part was probably the hardest to get right, but once I discovered I was too quick on the draw it made sense.

When are you clicking the crosshair?  I had that same problem.
Title: Re: The Crimson Room
Post by: nishi on March 12, 2005, 10:33:26 PM
i know. it seems to be just dumping me back into the room the way it does when you're examining what you've found and then click to return to the room.

the red room hates me.

i've tried clicking it the first and second times when he points to it. and i think there was even a third one i waited for a couple of times.  i'm only clicking when the crosshairs are visible.

Ah.  Put your mouse over the crosshairs and then wait until the movie is over and click there (but slightly to the right and up).

They changed the code several times during the day.  I had to go back and restart the whole thing to enter a new code so I could finish the game.
