My hard drive has been failing for the past week or so. I had ordered a 10,000RPM Western Digital 36.7GB Raptor Hard Drive and it came in yesterday. This thing is insanely fast. I've never installed Windows so fast. Apps open as soon as I click them.

I *heart* new computer stuff :)

You should open the drive's case so you can see it spinning. I bet it looks really cool too.

Whats the boot time like?  I average a minute with my laptops 4200rpm. no better with my desktop 7200.

I wouldn't do this with your drive, but if you ever get to pull one out of a hotswap bay, be sure to wiggle it around in the air and feel the gyroscopic effect as it spins down.

ReBurn

Hook a propeller to it with the shaft through the case.  Then see if your PC really flies.

Boot time is about 13 seconds. WoW starts in 3 seconds. It's insanely fast.

I bet it would fly. This sucker is LOUD too.

Why would you want a loud computer?

I don't want it loud, it just is. But because I know how fast it is spinning I don't care.
