So you watched Sympathy for Lady Vengeance again last night?

Indeed I did.

Why so soon?

Well, I was puzzled by my reaction to it, especially after hearing PE's reaction to it.  I felt very distant to the film while watching it the first time, whereas the first two really pulled me into them.  I started to suspect my reaction was more a reflection of my mood than the film itself.

So then?

I was more involved the second time, though still not as much as the other films.  I think the film telegraphs it's moments so early that there is a real lack of surprise involved.  It's more akin to waiting for the inevitable.  It's still sharply made and wonderfully acted.

Oh, and PE is right that the decision scene packs a fun punch.

I totally didn't watch the vengeance trilogy in order.  did Mr.V first, then lady V, then oldboy.

should have watched oldboy before Lady V, but whatever, they are all amazing.

I saw Oldboy first, then Mr., then Lady.  I honestly think it doesn't matter.

Ah.  So are you going to watch it again tonight?

Nope, I'm sated for now.  Quick Change comes out on DVD today.  I love that movie.

Isn't that the movie with Bill Murray playing a clown?

Yeah, it's completely underrated and underappreciated.  It's taken too long to get to DVD.

Also, Mirrormask comes out today.

Wow, based on your accounts, Mirrormask has been released three times already.

Well, they keep bumping it.  I don't actually expect to see it sitting there at the store.

At least it's out.  Advent Children has been bumped about a year already, in chunks of 2 or 3 months at a time.

The last time I looked at the release date on amazon, it was something funny like 2099.

And did you not buy Amelie on the day it was released on DVD?  And have you still not watched it?

That, like Mirrormask, you've never even seen the film and yet you are childishly eager to pick up  the DVD.  And then when you have it, you won't watch it.
