The D league tornerdos go for the first win tonight @ 9.  I'm hoping to keep my points streak going!

Richie fucking Wong should be playing in B-League.. what a tool.  I hate dudes that play on lower levels so they can pad their stats.  This a-hole played for a Division 1 NCAA team.

What does shorthanded goals mean?  I like Austin Shelito best.

It means a goal scored when you are on a penalty kill... skating 4 on 5 or 3 on 5...

i think, since i'm still pretty new to hockey, that this is one of the easier rules to understand, although i could be mistaken.

as i understand it, if you compare this to basketball it would be like if some player committed some egegious foul and then, instead of giving the other team free throws, you sent the guy off the floor and didn't send another player in, so the team with the foul is playing with 4 guys instead of 5 for a certain period of time. some penalties involve more than one person. some ferocious hockey gets played during penalty kills. watching three guys trying to play five guys is pretty intense.

i could be wrong, but i think that's basically it.

i still don't understand "icing".

That makes sense.  Well, as much sense as hockey can make, I suppose.  Thanks, nishi!

Icing is easy.  If your team is skating full strength and passes the puck from behind the middle red line and it goes all the way past the blue line at the other teams goal and someone from the other team touches the puck first... that's icing baby.  If you are on a penalty kill there is no icing.

I love playing on penalty kill lines.  Because you are short handed the refs tend to let you get away with more extra curricular stuff.  I took some clown off his feet as he was setting up for a one timer in front of our goalie Saturday night.  Clearing the slot is so much fun it hurts.

they should have you write "hockey rules in plain snizwilk english", because i have read the rule about icing roughly 20 times and i had no earthly idea what the hell they were talking about. now i totally understand! and i had no idea that there was no icing during a penalty.

there is icing during a penalty for the full strength team... but not for the team killing the penalty.
