He managed to distill so many of the emotions I experienced growing up in the 80s.  His characters were so often shades of my own personality, parts of my own life.  I valued his insight into teens when I was growing up and have appreciated it even more as I've gotten older.  He was a brilliant man.  I'll sincerely miss his art and influence. 

I was a little bit of every character in the Breakfast Club.

My god what a cast full of whiners, except for Duckie and Iola.

Gee Andie- maybe people don't like you because you're kind of snobby.
