04/12/07 - Congrats to dots for snatching the real 200,000th post! Riding on her coattails, I guess we can spare some kudos to Jessie for the less real 200,000th post.

I read "You are Worthless: Depressing Nuggets of Wisdom Sure to Ruin Your Day"

It was a quick, funny read.

Jessie

I'm reading 'Memoirs of a Geisha'.  I'm enjoying it.

I want to get the entire Suicide Bunnies series.
we should have kept the quote pyramid up to rape Jessie in the face.

I read the TV Guide the other night. It was informative and insightful.

I also read the Glamour magazine in the bathroom. Today I read about hair care and upcoming fashion trends.

i just finished a book by bill bryson on walking the appalachain trail like i liked very very much. i'm almost finished with The Tipping Point, by malcolm somebody i can't remember, about how different kinds of information spreads in our society. it's really an interesting book. the chapter on sesame street was fantastic.
"we left the motherland to settle a colony on Juntoo.  hats with belt buckles."

<- this is a prankapple.

Gamplayerx

I'm reading this completely inane and puerile novel.  Luckily, I'm almost finished.

You can't call something inane and puerile and not tell us what it is!  We love inane and puerile!

I was reading The Reluctant Metrosexual: Dispatches from an Almost Hip Life by Peter Hyman

I'm reading a trashy romance novel and I can't remember the name.

I've given up on finishing A Confederacy of Dunces.  I think I am going to start Shutter Island next.

A friend once gave me six used Fabio romance novels as a gift.  The ones he actually "wrote".  I ended up selling them, but I should have read at least one.

My mistake.  It's called The Greek Villa - purportedly it's a delicison tale of passion and intrigue, delivering an irresistible escape, as a woman's new love is threatened by old family secrets on the wild coasts of Greece.

Ooo, I've never heard of those!

Whoops.  Doesn't matter - it's not a delicious tale anyway.

I just re-read "Magnificent Corpses". Uber creepy...
I was just wondering...

BigDun

I am reading  Practical Demonkeeping by Christopher Moore and listening to Angels and Demons by Dan Brown. I seem to be on a demon kick.

I'm reading The Broker.
How is that?  I finished The Breathren not long ago.

Gamplayerx

It's okay.  There's too much detail and not enough plot.  Like this guy's learning Italian and there's pages and pages and pages about learning Italian and stuff in Italian translated to english and stuff in english translated to Italian and the names for stuff in Italian and on and on and on.  Maybe Grisham took Italian lessons and wanted to show off or something.

OBB

I'm midway through 'A Bridge Too Far'... man, the book is better than the movie.

Jessie

I finally finished Memoirs of a Geisha, which was really good, except the ending felt forced and rushed.  I'm particular about endings, I guess.

Among other things, I'm reading Don't Sweat the Small Stuff, and it's really helping me keep a positive mental attitude. I just have to think about what I'm reading, as opposed to skimming what it says.
