I know some of you have them.  What do you think?  Do they work well?  Worth the money?  Hold up over time?

Carroll's thinking of buying a Roomba.

I love my Roomba.  No issues, no problems, works like a dream.  And after all this time, it's still just as amusing as it was the first time I used it.

The Scooba was fantastic - except it doesn't get in the corners.  And the battery stopped holding a charge.  But I like the cleaner that goes with it so much that I still use that.  I call it Scooba juice.  I think it's made by Clorox.

Timely- there's a Roomba on the wootoff RIGHT NOW
"Pinky, are you pondering what I'm pondering?"
I think so, Brain, but how will we get the Spice Girls into the paella?

Jessie

That's where he wants to buy it from :)

They're great, I love mine.  If you're looking to save money buy a broom, though.

Dry then Catch

Roomba tips as a 3 year owner of a Discovery SE:

1) lot of pet hair will ruin it.  RUIN IT.
2)  Not nearly as effective on plush carpets vs. hardwood.
3)  you will need to replace most components after about 1.5-2 years, probably about $75.
4)  they are smart, but can't outsmart power cords.

Its best for light maintenance on a non-carpet floor with little pet dander.  It will not replace the need for a regular vacuum.

Carroll says to thank you all for your advice.  He loves his Roomba.
