He was slated to be Ozymandias for a short while, apparently.  He and Snyder thought that his status as a celebrity would play very will into that specific role.  I can see where they were coming from, too, though I'm glad it didn't happen.

It will supposedly be announced at Comic Con this year that Billy Crudup has landed the role of Dr. Manhattan.  That makes three actors - Crudup, Patrick Wilson, Jackie Earle Haley - that are involved in the project, as opposed to hiring stars.  Interesting.

I still really have no idea what this is about, but Timothy and I agreed that the trailer looked cool.
