This trailer looks moderately interesting.  Anyone know anything about the story or the book?

It was a huge best seller as a novel and is considered by many to be the best horror novel of the new century so far.

Supposedly pretty ruthless, if you can get past the central conceit.

I desperately want to finish the book before the movie comes out.

Also, if you are mildly interested, try and avoid commercials, since some of them are already giving away too much.
