when I was in the theater to see Forgetting Sarah Marshall today I saw a trailer for another Incredible Hulk movie.  WHAT THE FUCK IS GOING ON IN HOLLYWOOD?????!!!!!!!!  Since the last one did so bad some mucky muck at a film studio think that they need to make another one?  I guess the graphics would be better and they did get Ed Norton to play bruce banner, but come on.  Batman has just seemed to run amuck and now this... I think I'll go watch As Good As it Gets again.... I'm depressed.

Beefy

The last Hulk film actually didn't do that bad, it just wasn't as big of a hit as they wanted.  Marvel was convinced that a Hulk film could do better and wanted to take advantage of the current entertainment climate where comic book based films can be highly profitable.  This Hulk film is the first of the Marvel films that Marvel financed themselves, thereby removing studio interference beyond distribution.  The problem is, apparently, that they made a film that wasn't very good.  First, they hired the director of The Transporter, if that gives you any indication of the kind of film they were looking for.  Hiring Norton was a great idea, but Norton is notorious for getting involved and trying to save his films from sucking.  The word is that Norton and the director got into a scuffle with Marvel, trying to maintain a longer cut of the film that held more characterization and emotional weight, while Marvel wanted an hour and a half video game type brawl.  Marvel won, which is why Norton has been doing zero press for the film and why the trailer looks like total suck.  As much as people whined about the last Hulk film, and despite it's obvious flaws, it really wasn't that bad of a film and actually understood what made the Hulk such a tragic character.  One hour of character set-up that everyone already knows followed by half an hour of two CGI titans brawling through Toronto doesn't sound like an improvement to me.  And based off of everyone else's reactions I've heard, this film isn't going to be the big hit they were hoping for, either.  The only hopes are if Norton pulls of some magic on screen or if there is truly something spectacular about that half hour brawl.

Batman Begins is fantastic and I don't even like comic books come to life.
we should have kept the quote pyramid up to rape Jessie in the face.

I take it all back.  The new trailer kicks ass.  And if you're old enough, the music at the very end of the trailer ought to give you chills.

wow manosax is pretty angry about this.  you wouldn't like him when he is angry

I never saw the first Hulk, but from what I understand it was critically fairly well received, but audiences wanted HULK SMASH and 2 hours of Ang Lee character development about a torn soul.

manosax

yea... you don't want to get m angry... I might turn a lovely shade of chartruce... My main point is that i wish that somebody in the main hollywood circles would have an original thought... or at least on that hasn't just been used!  The trailer for the Speed Racer movie looks interesting.

Sidenote:  Girls on TF don't like it when you refer to them as "internet pretty".

How did this turn so quickly from Hollywood's following the path of least resistance to "sex talk"... wait.... now I remember where I am.  nevermind.

I bet Edward Norton laughs when he sees that chick stomping on the kitten's head video, and he kicks babies, and rapes great grandmothers.

Jessie

Until recently I thought this was a sequel to the other Hulk movie.  Apparently not though, right?
