him: we got the electric bill in the mail today

me:  okay

him:  we've not run either of our central units in over two months, the bill was still over $150

me:  that's about right, normally the bill is almost $200

him:  you have got to stop using the dryer so much

me:  okay, I'll stop washing clothes

end of conversation.

Jessie

we should have kept the quote pyramid up to rape Jessie in the face.

I remember the days of electric bills under $200.   Good times, good times.

My electric bill is about $50 a month.

Dry then Catch

are you really not going to do the laundry?  isn't that misdemeanor in the South?

It's the only benefit of living in a 1 bedroom apt.

Moving on up?

The rest of the country might not have heard, but we here in the great state of Maryland, after lots of hype, promises and no action, are getting totally screwed on our electric prices.

Oh, yeah.  Big help.  The "help" was that you could defer the rate hike for a few months or some other crap like that.  You still had to pay the 72% increase eventually, but I guess that would give you the time to sell a lot of plasma or pawn your mother's china.

So which did you choose? Because I don't think I saw a poll on Junto about this.

95 to 245 is a 258%  increase.  I dunno where the 72% number came from.

It's not exactly $95 to $245 - I'm on the budget plan (ha!) so that I don't have crazy high bills (haha!) in the summer.  The actual charge per kilowatt hour increased 72% or something.

Jessie, I have a pretty small house.
