Never seen it but the synopsis sounds like it's very pro-socialist style economy.

It's very anti-slavery economy.

I do have to say, hearing the French National Anthem repeatedly during a German film was a bit odd.

You must have watched the really old one. It's a really good movie. If that isn't it, then you should watch the really old one.

Thinkers and workers.

They say that part of that movie has been lost.

The original cut of the film does not currently exist in any form.

I did watch the really old one.

They estimate 1/4 of it doesn't exist anymore, which is sad.  But I cannot believe some of the special effects in that movie.  Blows me away.

From a friend of mine:

Just watched the 2001 Japanime version of 'Metropolis.' Amazing visuals; the climax is devastating. I've never said that about any animated movie, ever.  Also: Amazing use of Ray Charles on the soundtrack. Amazing.

So.  There you have it.  I have no idea if he's full of crap or not, but he's usually pretty good about reviews.

"Pinky, are you pondering what I'm pondering?"
I think so, Brain, but how will we get the Spice Girls into the paella?
