They're great, but you have to time their harvest very carefully. This year they were just getting ripe and then I had to go back to work for a week, now I'm home and they are over-ripe and woody. The second batch I planted is sort of OK but they're mostly done. I only therefore got a few this year but as always, they were good.

swolt

When I was a kid there was some cartoon on TV and the bad guy was a radish. I don't remember anything else about the cartoon, I don't remember who the good guys were or the plot, but the radish guy scared me.

I have never had, nor will I ever have, a radish. They are scary.

Radishes taste like ass.  So do brussel sprouts, garbanzo beans and califlour.

Beefy

I like radishes, brussel sprouts, and cauliflower.  Not sure about garbonzo beans.

Gamplayerx

I like radishes, cauliflower and garbanzo beans.  Brussel sprouts suck.

dazie

Radishes =  :rock:
Brussel Sprouts =
Cauliflower =  :-X
Garbanzo Beans =  :butt:  (that's what they look like- little butts)
"Pinky, are you pondering what I'm pondering?"
I think so, Brain, but how will we get the Spice Girls into the paella?

Jessie

Radishes barely taste like anything.  I can live with or without them.

Brussel Sprouts are oh so yummy with mashed potatoes.   Now I want some :(

Cauliflower Blech.

I've never had a garbanzo bean.
we should have kept the quote pyramid up to rape Jessie in the face.

Gamplayerx

Have you ever had a chick pea?

Jessie

BigDun

If you've had hummus then you've had chick peas. I am personally not a big fan of them.

What do you know?  You don't even like fruit.  Freak.

Garden radishes are spicy tasting and good.

You guys are insane if you don't like chickpeas. Although if I had only ever had them from the can, I'd think they were pretty blah too.

Jessie

I had hummus at nishi's house once.  That's it.  I wasn't thrilled by it.  Her black bean mango salsa and homemade garlic mayo though?  I'd marry her for those.  YUM.

I'll see your hummus and say that I enjoy falafel

Damnit.  Now I'm going to have to go to Lebanese Taverna for lunch.

Jessie

Are you going to sing about Pita City Falafel while you do it?

Gamplayerx

I don't know what Pita City Falafel is.

Jessie

It's a Parry Gripp song.  Try and keep up!

I love hummus.

I usually add roasted chillies, fresh chillies, roasted garlic, and fresh garlic to mine. I haven't made it in a long time though.

Finding good tahini is tough, it's almost best to make your own so it'll be fresh and not rancid.

...I just had a couple fresh radishes and they had tons of flavor and were really good and whoever doesn't know what they taste like is missing out.

Alice

I love the hell out of gyros.

dazie

Damn.

I still have yet to have really good shawarma. A Lebanese dude that I know tried a lebanese restaurant in a local mall's food court, but it fizzled in part due to a lack of marketing and funny-sounding names, plus it was in a stupid mall.

When I was in Montreal, the Eaton Center's food court was almost pure ethnic. Want.

Me too. I also love hummus, although the hummus I had when I ate lunch with Beefy and VJ was really nasty. That place sucked, I think VJ didn't like his food either.

there is a place near my parents house that has awesome chicken shawarma. The owner's hdd died and I recovered all his data for him so every time I go in now I get something for free.

Come here.  There's a few good middle eastern restaurants.  I haven't tried the shawarma though.

Walid was all about the shawarma. I think I may have tried something along those lines once, but he didn't have the huge vertical spit rocking when I was there.  His falafel was the bomb, though.

Gamplayerx

I am currently stuffing my face on yummy hummus, falafel, tabouleh, tahini, tzaziki and kibbeh.  YUM!

I've never heard of sayadiye, but I looked it up and it sounds fairly dreadful, so I will probably not ever be having it.

The lebanese taxi driver was all about the sayadiye. It doesn't look very good though.
