I love the "HOW TO PLAY" thing that is just totally useless.  I kept the kid above water for a long time by not doing anything.  And yet, my score remained at 0.

From what I can tell, all you have to do is remove at least one bar and keep the little bastard afloat...then you can click the next level button.

yeah, it looks like the object is to remove as many pieces as you can without killing the kid.
