Did you say whether or not you checked that it's going for the right ESSID and has the right encryption key (if applicable)?

I don't know what that first part means, but on the second part, yes - it has the right encryption key.

I never use encryption. I lock access down by the ethernet adapter's unique identifying number. If someone wants to sniff my packets from the street, they are free to do so.

There's a joke in there somewhere, but I can't seem to pull it out.
