I *heart* Lawrence Welk

My local PBS station shows an hour of Lawrence Welk every Saturday evening.  I LOVE IT!  The music is awesome, and the talent is amazing. 

Plus I get to laugh at Bobby, 89 years old and still wearing toreador pants to do a polka with Elaine-in-sequins.

Lawrence Welk.  There are many days I wish we could go back to that level of popular entertainment.  I'll take that over 99.9999% of "reality" TV.

I've only ever seen about 5 minutes of Lawrence Welk - I think it was on TV Land or something.  He was introducing some young woman who was going to do something musically that I can't remember and made some unbelieveably sexist remark about how he was amazed that she was able to both walk and talk or something, I don't remember what it was, but it was really bad and I have no point to this story really, especially seeing as how I remember no details, so, tiny bubbles anyone?

I enjoy Lawrence Welk too!  I thought I was the only one.  My dad laughed at me when I watched it.
