Well, the last vestiges of the old republic have now been swept away.  Jason Taylor, the lone remaining member of the Jimmy Johnson years has been dealt to Washington for a 2nd round pick in 2009 and a 6th round pick in 2010.  There was a lot of speculation that JT would be dealt months ago and nothing came of it.  The Redskins lost a starting defensive end this afternoon and quickly made the deal right after.  The general perception is that the Dolphins got the better of the deal landing the 2nd round pick.  The going rate that people were talking about before the draft was a mid 3rd or even 4th round pick for a guy who doesn't want to play more than a year or two.

I for one, will miss him on my team.  He's been a classy guy his entire career and even handled this whole Bill Parcells situation with more class than I would have shown.  He's been one of my favorites for a decade now.  The team will miss his leadership, personality, and play on the field.  The community will miss his public service.

And Kudos to Dotts, your team just got one hell of a player for at least one season.
