This combines so many things I like, but without sticky fingers.

Without sticky fingers?  Hatt!!

smoochies to you, HELIX.

Is it okay if I call you Helix?  All  this capitalization makes me tired.

forgot to tell you about one thing.

when you make this there may be some grease (possibly from the hot sauce) on the top of the dip when you pull it out of the oven...if you are concerned about the cosmetics of the dip carefully use a paper towel to soak up the grease before putting the cheese on top.

H? I don't think so.  That's not a very interesting nickname.

Perhaps Handy Elephant Lifting Idiosyncratic Xylophone. Helix for short.

Any ideas if it would be as good using a low fat cream cheese and/or dressing?

The chicken in your freezer still has ears?

Not exactly sure, haven't tried the low fat stuff...if you try it, let me know how it works out.

since it's a baked thing and so gloopy anyway, i'm thinking you'd be fine with the low-fat stuff in this recipe - it wouldn't really affect the consistency the way it might with baking or something. i think it's a good idea. i would use low-fat instead of no-fat cream cheese, though. that no-fat stuff is kind of odd sometimes.

I also have an awesome recipe for microwave fudge that is quite tasty and easy to make...if anyone is interested.

now that is just a ridiculous statement, 'if anyone is interested'. you're lucky there's hardly anyone online tonight - you have time to post it before you really get in trouble!

i hope that part of the ingredient list is "things you can easily find in nishi's pantry and refrigerator"....

I believe this may be it:

1.5 bags of choc. chips
1 can of condensed milk
2 drops of vanilla

Put ingredients in a bowl and microwave it for 2-3 minutes.
Put waxpaper in a pan and pour the melted mixture over the paper.
Refrigerate for 3 hours and then cut it up.

Will change it tomorrow if I screwed up.

good god. this is going to be the most popular thread in the history of junto.

(although here's where you lose points:
1) chocolate chips not currently in nishi's pantry;
2) the "if i screwed it up" phrase lessens the possibility that nishi will go get some right now;
3) no microwave fudge until tomorrow).

but not too many points.

I learned the art of using a candy thermometer when I was 9 years old. I will never try to make candy in the microwave that requires cooking to specific temperatures.

But for those of you not learned in the art of soft vs. hard ball temperature points, enjoy.

I don't know about the dip, but I can personally vouch for the fudge, as there are several pieces here with me.

However, I still say that vanilla doesn't usually come in a bottle that has a skull and crossbones on it.

This is something that needs to be discussed.

Please stop looking in my window at night.  I made that exact fudge last night, but on the stove in a double boiler.  And I added coffee to mine.  I sell it on the holidays in tins.

I think they're supposed to ask you for the recipe, then you give it to them, and THEN you get the kisses.

How was it?  Crackers or tortilla chips?  Have you had flour tortilla chips?  I think they'd be yummy with this.

One of my co-workers says "tor-till-ya" - drives me crazy.

Corn tortilla chips and celery sticks and baby carrots.

I haven't had flour tortilla chips- I bet they would be good.
