Ursus gave me this for Christmas- the whole set on DVD.
We watched disk 1 last night, and between him sobbing and me sobbing, and the both of us whooping and yelling, I think Kate was a little overwhelmed.
If you didn't get a chance to watch it on HBO when it was first shown way back when, I highly recommend getting your hands on a copy and watching.

If you really want to mess with Kate, you should alternate episodes of "Band of Brothers". She will be in therapy for years.
We got her "The Longest Day" as a Christmas present. That should hold her for a while.
I saw it when it first came out. It was awesome. I liked the fact that each episode had it's own cast of actors and unique feel rather than a drawn out, serialized version of events.

We bought that for my grandmother not too long ago. She hardly ever watches DVD's and is now in a home so there's a good bet it'll be coming back my way from not being used. I've never seen it but have heard great things.
