This just reminded me that Timothy discovered The Tick the other night.
That's one more thing I've never watched.
Isn't that some big geek thing, liking that show?
I swear, my child was born for nerddom.
If by geek you mean 'fucking rules', then yes. Strangely, I drove behind a guy today that had a license plate of "The Tick".
Well, here's a list of things that Timothy likes:
1. Reading
2. Batman
3. Superman
4. LOTR
5. Monty Python
6. The Tick
7. Computers
8. Comic books - any variety
9. Star Wars
10. Star Trek
11. Dressing up like a ninja
Oh, and Pokemon and YuGiOh, which might as well be Magic and D&D.
The Tick is awesome and irrespective of geekdom. you should give it a try.
the "dressing like a ninja" is the giveaway in that list, by the way.
If he's still dressing up like a ninja when he's 40, there may be a problem.
Keep your child away from eo.

If I had a kid, I'd totally encourage him to play D&D. For one, it's an imagination exercise. Hell, I'd even DM for him. I'm all for allowing kids to do geeky things - for one, it may mean one less Buisiness Major college Jock and maybe one more introspecting, interesting, smart kid.
Star Trek, Pokemon and Yugi Oh are the only geeky things on that list.
The rest are cool. I promise.

If you'd let your kid play that, then you've obviously never read this (http://www.chick.com/reading/tracts/0046/0046_01.asp).
Don't worry Bish. If you'd ever seen Timothy run (or try to run), you'd know that there's no danger of him becoming any sort of jock.
I love my little geek. He's so cute.
I won't let him play D&D, though, because I don't want him to go to hell.

Don't you want your kid to end up where you are going to end up? Or do you want to be lonely?

I wish someone had taught me to cast mind spells on my dad when I was a kid.

Yeah, Jack Chick is the best. I love his tracts on homosexuality.
Jess,
I have every episode of The Tick on DVD. It's crap quality, but it's viewable. I can make copies for Timothy if you'd like.
Only caveat: you watch, too.

I just want Homefront on DVD. Is that too much to ask?

Homefront is one of my favorite TV shows ever.
My copy of Monster Squad gets all wonky in the middle. Frankenstien opens his mouth to talk and Phoebe's voice comes out. Then Phoebe opens her mouth to talk and it's the sound of a car driving past. :(
I like the word wonky.

I think two years is long enough for me to wait for Beefy to send me this, so I've taken matters into my own hands. And in just over 203 hours, more or less, I will finally get to see what the hubbub's all about.
Thanks for nothing, Beefy. Sheesh.

What's in 203 hours? And how do you know I'm not responsible for whatever it is?

It's only 167 hours now. Time is very elastic. And I don't but you definitely didn't it to send me.
I have now watched the first season. Funny. I like his little lessons learned recaps at the end of each one.

One of my favorite Tick characters is in that episode - "roommate".
"Hey there little bunny guy."
So far, my favorite character is the Midnight Bomber What Bombs At Midnight.

I also like the rain man sewer urchin.
Yesterday, I watched all the episodes of the live action The Tick on hulu. Despite what I had heard, it turns out to have been quite enjoyable. Obviously not as good as the cartoon but loads of fun.
And the pilot of Arrested Development. Why did nobody ever tell me that show involved Jason Bateman?? I so would've watched it at the time had I known.
I've been watching Arrested Development on hulu too!
