Title: A little help here...
Post by: dazie on October 13, 2008, 07:03:27 PM
I need 2 5/8 yards of this fabric:

http://www.robertkaufman.com/fabrics/isabella_knit/GVKS-8065-2/

My local Hancock Fabric didn't have enough and they can't order more.  I have been unable to find it online in black/grey, as shown in that link.  I can find it in green/yellow, which looks unappetizingly like green fried eggs.  It also comes in brown/brown, which is nice, but I can't find that either.

If anyone could find that much of that fabric, I'd be willing to toss in a bonus, perhaps make something for you as well.

Thanks.

Cool.  I'd really appreciate it.  :)

I hate to say it- but it's one of the "Project Runway" signature fabrics.  But I have a perfect dress pattern for it.  *lol*

There's a Hancock (heh heh) Fabric here. I'll swing by tomorrow and take a look, too.

I'll probably be at Hancock this weekend shopping for stuff to make this:

I'll look for your stuff while I'm there.

I'm totally excited about it.  I wasn't sure if I was going to the party I was invited to, but now I have to.  I tried to talk Timothy into being one, too, but he doesn't know what they are.  I have failed as a mother.

You're going to end up with like 9 yards of the stuff now.

Thanks all!

A friend in NV said he found some- so DON'T BUY ANY!

If you do come across some, just get the phone number of the store and let me know.  *lol*

OK- the friend said his mom could order some, but it's a 15 yard minimum.

NOT THAT FAT YET.

So, if you have the time and the inclination, please feel free to keep looking.

I saw a shirt with either that or extremely close to that pattern at Burlington Coat Factory yesterday.  It was $5.99.  Want that instead?

I went there yesterday!  I got a black, white and gray argyle sleeveless turtleneck sweater that I'm wearing right now.

It was like that pattern, only it had sort of stripes where the fabric was more sheer and I believe it was 3/4 sleeve with a slightly shirred mock turtleneck.  I really liked it.

Gah, sorry Dazie.  I got a little preoccupied last night and forgot about it.  I'll drive over there today and see.

No problem- I kind of figured there were more important things on your mind.  :)

And there's absolutely no rush on this at all.  I just like the fabric and have a good dress pattern for it.

Joann did not have that material, but the manager gave me this web site, she thought it could be had there by special order?  I briefly looked on the site, but did not see any Kaufman.

I don't know where in Florida you are, google says there are 24 Burlington Coat Factory (http://find.mapmuse.com/re1/map_brand_mm2.php?brandID=BURLINGTON_COAT_FACTORY&init=27.9167,-83.6075,6&tlist=BURLINGTON_COAT_FACTORY,)'s in Florida.  They don't sell only coats.  :)

there are none within at least 60 miles or so...one closed about 5yrs ago in Vero Bch, about an hour north. I have been to a burlington in Plano Tx, i bought a very soft cashmere blend gray sweater, my daughter stole it.
