Title: Lyrics Game
Post by: Alice on May 24, 2005, 09:11:31 AM
So here's a new game.  It might be lame, but nobody is talking and this is the only thing I can think of to do.

I'm going to take a fairly well known lyric and translate it using an online translator, into french, back into English, into Spanish and back into English again.

The first person that decyphers the lyric - gets to post the next one.

"This is close to late night and hides something badly In the obscure."

I've got another easy one.  It amuses me to see where in the translaton things get screwed up.  I saw one get screwed up in here by a French homonym.

Surprisingly, this line makes about as much sense once it's been through the ringer.

"If there's a bustle in your hedgerow, don't be alarmed now.  It's just a spring clean for the May Queen."

Becomes

"If there it has a confusion in its row of bushes, not to be alarmed now.  Is barely a clean spring for the Queen of May."
