For dinner we had pork tenderloin cooked five hours in the crockpot with sour kraut made from cabbage from mom's garden.
We also had buttered potatoes (intended to be mashed until I realized I was out of milk) and green beans.
Man, it totally hit the spot.
Your mom buried her cabbage to make sauerkraut? Ick.
How do you make sour kraut?
She didn't bury it, she put it under her bed, just like my grandma always did.
that sounds good other than the saurkraut, which I realized is basically korean kim chee
buttery potatoes and roasted pork sound like the ultimate comfort food. just need some mac and cheese....

Sauerkraut is just cabbage that rots and ferments in it's own juices. Most people bury it, but I guess now that we have tupperware that doesn't let the smell leak, you can put it under your bed.
I don't know if I'd do it in tupperware or not. This was in mason jars. Six weeks sitting in a mason jar rotting, basically.
I love it.
I wonder if it could go bad, and if so, how would you know it?
I can't read this thread anymore. I'm getting urpy. This is almost as bad as 2g1c.
Speaking of sour krauts...

I wish I didn't hate Tom Cruise now. I was thinking the other day about how he used to be a big star and taken seriously.
