Title: Songs in actual 3/4 time?
Post by: Bishamonten on September 12, 2006, 09:10:09 PM
Anyone know of some good songs in actual 3/4 time?  Specifically, songs a wedding band might know?  A lot of songs are in 6/8( ex:  "At Last" by Etta James ) and 6/8 ain't easy dancing for a waltz.

Any thoughts?

doesn't our man Sufjan Stevens constantly change from 3/4 to like something like 5/12 ala Come Feel the Illinoise part 1 to part 2

Tennessee Waltz

Probably not appropriate for a wedding though.

The original version of "Jupiter (Swallow the Moon)" by Jewel was in 3/4.  Also, many songs off Edie Brickell's 2004/5 (?) album are in 3/4.  I'm specifically thinking of "Take a Walk" (I think it's called).

I know what you're talking about but getting gifts makes me really uncomfortable.  Look, you just come by and we'll go make out behind the house for 15 minutes.

It's safe.  14 of those minutes are me apologizing.

I know where he's registered and it doesn't make me uncomfortable at all to talk about showering Bishy with gifts.
