The necessity of the very existence of that machine is one of the reasons I am endeavoring to completely rid my home of carpet.

She probably should have picked the juice box up before she started cleaning.  Just a thought.

Oh yeah- once we buy the place, all carpet in the living room, dining room and hallway is GONE.  The kids will still have carpet in their rooms though.

That's what the carpet in the bedrooms will be for.

Check out this quote from the Bissell site:
Quote"THANKYOU for this marvelous product. I have two long-haired indoor cats who have a proclivity for puking on carpeted areas. Even with the new oxy products, I couldn't get the spots out. I've had my SpotBot for 24 hours and there isn't a spot on any carpet in my house. You have saved three lives (mine and the two cats')." (October 2005)

That cracked me up.

Yeah, until your landlords take that bathroom back and turn it into someone else's living room.

Possibly.     <-- punker

The shower curtain I have now works and only cost $4.99.  *sigh*  So I guess I'll keep it.

That'd be an alright product to have around. It wouldn't have the same issues of power and effectiveness that you get with larger consumer-model carpet steam cleaners. Spraying cleaning goo on carpet is nothing. Sucking it back out with insanely powerful vacuum and beater brush action is another matter. It's all about running a wet/dry vacuum cleaner off of 120 V 15 A circuts.

Every time I steam clean the carpet, I vow to do it more often after seeing the sludge water.  But I never do.

Sorry, I listened to NPR.  Cell phones with radios built in are handy!
