Title: Tub refinishing
Post by: dazie on March 23, 2006, 09:25:29 PM
I have the greatest deep cast iron tub in my bathroom.  The drag, however, is that it's ancient and hasn't been treated nicely in its lifetime.  (like the rest of my house)  I'd like to refinish it, but I'm cheap AND poor, so I looked at some DIY stuff.  Has anyone ever used this stuff:  http://www.homaxproducts.com/products/kitchenbath/08/index.html  ?

My aunt used something similar.  It worked beautifully as far as I know.

I tried something like that on the tile in our old house.  It worked okay, and by okay I mean that it covered the hideous yellow color, but there were brush strokes.  Also, I don't know how long it would have lasted as a few months later we had professionals come in and gut the bathroom.
