Title: Laptop Touchpad
Post by: Jessie on November 30, 2005, 02:40:29 PM
So this Dell that this dude here uses has a touchpad and two buttons.

Is there a way to turn off the clickablity of the touchpad part?  I don't know why it even has buttons if you just have to click on the touchpad.

My touchpad doesn't click. The touchpad moves the cursor and the button clicks.

I like a double-tap on the touchpad much better than I like having to click the button.  I also like to be able to single-tap and drag.

This is because apple is approximately 10 years behind everyone else in pointing device functionality.

I once set up a laptop for a guy with a camera on the top and when he moved his head it moved the mouse. To double click he had to flick his tounge out twice.

no joke.

When I worked in the nursing home we had a quadraplegic (sic?) resident who played on his computer all day.  He blew in a straw to work the mouse.

Everytime I see "Laptop Touchpad" I think of Launchpad McQuack for some reason.

might be because mine is new, and possible HP, but a nice feature of mine is a button on the keypad that you can use to turn the touchpad on and off, to prevent accidental movement if using the keypad.
