Yes she does and she is a very scared kitty right now. She was so afraid of neifi! and remained in the basement and did not want to come up anymore. I am so happy she is here. I hope she comes out of this bad state.

I'm sure she will.  Our cats hated our dog when she first moved in, and the feeling was mutual, but they are ok with each other now.  Not "friends" but not afraid.

She seems to be fine sitting on my lap and covered up. Tomorrow with no one here she should be able to walk around and notice no big doggie is going to be here. Drew is going to stop by after work and see her and then that will also be a bigger boost of saying everything will be alright.

how old is Aerial and has she been around dogs before?

Cats need a lot of care when being introduced to new spaces and new roommates.  Just make sure that she always has aan accessible exit and hidey space and she'll feel confident in no time.

Aerial is 6 years old and never been around dogs or outside. Drew has one more cat named Tyler and he is taking it good. She just could not handle being around a dog and I felt she needed to get out of that situation. She isolated herself in the basement and would not come up anymore. She actually started loosing fur near her hind quarters and that is when I said she needs to leave. I put it to stress and she did not seem like she was going to come out of it.

she is older and it is very difficult for cats and dogs to adapt at times if they are not used to each other...when they grow up together they are tyically friendly or tolerate each other...hope everything works out

If she's happy in the basement, leave her in the basement, just make sure you visit often and give cuddles and treats and toys and interaction.

Well in two more weeks this little precious will be mine too. Sorry for the grainy pic but it is a pic of a pic. Aerial is used to being with a buddy so I decided to get her/him.

Drew came over tonight and looked on Aerial and he seemed sad. He does understand that it is better that she is over here. She is still adjusting but doing better than being stuck in a basement. This little new one hopefully will bring the full kitty out of her.

I take it the apartment is not dog welcoming?

Neifi! is welcome over here but Drew works from home and can him the time he needs. This is the little puppy that was given to me for mother's day this year and he is a handful. Drew has a yard, he is home and Neifi! is just a little to big for this place. There are dogs in the other apartments but I just don't think it is fair and Drew has become attached to him. I get to see him whenever I go over and Drew gets to see Aerial whenever he comes over here. I think it is a good thing for both of our pets. They get the love and attention that is needed.

Cute.  Looks a little like a rodent, but then, all baby cats look a little like rodents.  I'm sure s/he will be much prettier/handsomer when s/he gets about six months older.

I brought her/home today and whatever the gender the name is Urlacher. Tonight she/he is proving that she/he is a line backer as Urlacher is all over the place on my body. Aerial finally figured out that there is a new critter here and at least she is not hiding. She does not want anything to do with the new kitty but does not seem really afraid. She keeps on poking her head around to see what the heck this thing is. With Neifi! she would not even come out.

I do think Urlacher will be a small kitty so she will not have much to worry about.

Real pic of Urlacher and my wireless mouse. I already new he/she was tiny but I just wanted a reference point. He/she Urlacher is 5 weeks 5 days old. He/she eats kitten food and uses kitty box. I also cannot believe how tiny this little one is.

average age for kitties to leave is 6 weeks. Urlacher is now 5 weeks 6 days old; one day shy of 6 weeks. He/she is eating kitten food and using the litter box. This little one will be just fine.

Actually, 8 - 12 weeks is normal for complete weaning.  Our dear departed Sparky we had to take at 5 weeks or he was going to be killed - he ate kitten food and used the litter box, but wasn't truly weaned.  The result was that he was super attached to us and he sucked his tail.
