Title: Washington Design Center
Post by: cnamon on November 02, 2005, 11:02:55 AM
***WARNING:  DOTS IS ABOUT TO GEEK OUT***

We are about to put a new floor in our kitchen.  I had seen the flooring I liked on TV (www.themarmoleumstore.com) and they had a link to a store where I could go see it in person.

We went to the place, and it was a wonderland of home decorating stuff!  Stoves, soaking tubs, granite, swarovski crystal chandeliers, and all kinds of flooring.

It was a thing of beauty.

Do they have some sort of sealant for that to protect it from stains, or do you use some product from the grocery for such things?

How much does that stuff cost per square foot?

Depends...it can cost about 6.50 for a 12x12 panel.  It clicks in, so there is no adhesive needed.

We decided to get cork flooring...it runs 2.65 a square foot at Lumber Liquidators.

we were going to get the black and sahara colors.

Beef, it is pre-sealed, but you can put an extra coat on there to seal the joints.

Cork floors!

We are going to the store on next Friday (hooray for federal holidays!) and they will have more selection.

I bet that cork will look and feel very nice.  I am leery, though, of any flooring that claims to be installed without adhesive or fasteners.  Flooring just takes so much abuse.  I wish you the best of luck with it.

I'd love to have cork floors in my house.  *swoon*  I was just looking at that last night.

Right before my washing machine vomited all over the floor.  *sigh*  I guess I'll stick with vinyl 'til I figure out all the quirks of this place.

The guy at the floor store told us that cork floors aren't recommended for laundry rooms or bathrooms because there are more chances for leaks under the floor.

I would love to have cork floors throughout the house, but I like the bamboo too much to do it.

And cork floors would be cool for when you accidentally drop your darts.

Yay!  I am going back here Saturday morning.  We are tearing out the closet in our bedroom and putting in the elfa colset system.  We are looking for sliding doors.

We still have not gone to get the cork floors, but we will next month.  I heart home decorating.
