Title: Lyrical Gangsters
Post by: Listener on September 16, 2005, 04:44:34 PM
Here's an idea:  let's combine the best of "Song Stuck In Your Head" and "Free Association".

The object:  I will post a song lyric.  No more than one full verse in length.  You then post the first song lyric, up to one full verse in length, that you think of, or that it makes you think of.

A full chorus counts as one verse.

Make sure to tell us the artist & title.

Let's begin:

We shout out these songs against the clang of electric guitars
You can see a million miles tonight
But you can't get very far

I walk these streets, a loaded six string on my back
I play for keeps, 'cause I might not make it back
I been everywhere, still I'm standing tall
I've seen a million faces an I've rocked them all

Robert Goulet, "Get Back in the Kitchen"

I'm the number on your kitchen door
I'm the gifted son you can not scorn
I'm the number on your kitchen door
Please remember just to keep the score

Buffalo Tom, "Kitchen Door"

We can't afford to be innocent
Stand up and face the enemy
It's a do or die situation
We will be invincible

Pat Benatar, "Invincible"

The start of Armageddon
It was just another day
We all saw the news, nothing to say

So many friends are missing
And family members gone
So we all pray that God help them be strong

And now we stand together
Remembering that day
The lives we live will never be the same

Good Charlotte w/Mest, "The Innocent"
