Title: Blog World Expo
Post by: Infobahn on September 20, 2008, 01:46:53 AM
I am at Blog World Expo in Vegas this weekend.  Everyone introduces themselves, and gives their blog name. I don't have a blog anymore.  At least, for now.

I was at a "Tweetup", a Twitter meetup at a club in the Hilton, and the group I was with stopped by for autographs and pictures with OJ Simpson.  For some reason, I shook his hand.

Did you count all your fingers afterwords??

You can count Junto as your blog.  It's just more... freeform than others.

I was just surprised he was there, really.  Yes, and I had all my fingers.   He was drunk, and pulled me in and told me it was a pleasure to meet me.  He was very nice, considering...

I hung out with two Conservative bloggers (http://theminorityreportblog.com/) and a couple of others.  Had a great time at the parties.  Felt somewhat hip and cool.  Classes start early.

If you have time, I highly recommend the "Thunder from Down Under" floorshow.  I think it's at the Mirage.

My grandma thought OJ Simpson was like a god.  We were watching the car chase and she kept saying how the police were mean for not leaving him alone.  She was a huge football fan.

I just met the White House webmaster, and the former White House webmaster.

We talked fantasy football...

I thought about asking about that issue, but didn't...

He did recommend an up and coming RB for my team.

Grab Ronnie Brown if he's floating around still...5 TD's today.  I was able to pick him up off the waiver wire during the second quarter.

Someone in my league has him, they benched him.  *giggles*

We have jack shit left in our league, but again, we've got 20 people.

That rookie is blazing fast and has scored TD's in each of his first three games.  He was one of my first FA pickups immediately after both my drafts.

No no, they network their machines, WHILE sitting next to each other, and THEN still type all day!!  It gives that really close social feel.

Oh, Felix Jones?  Yeah, I'd be shocked if he's left in any league that's got 7 or more people in it.  I know he was picked up at the end of our draft.

Catchr - There are breaks between classes, one is 2 hours for lunch, and tables in the classes themselves that we hung around, ate (a lot of free food and Jones soda), and networked - so to speak.  Guy Kawasaki plopped down at the same table as i was at late yesterday.  It was fun, I think that some of the classes were good, some not.  Overall learned what I needed to know.

Yeah, Felix is a prime example of how good drafting can make the NFL rich get richer.  This year's Cowboy draft brought them Felix Jones as a backup RB, the best corner in the draft to make them 4 starters deep at the position, and the second best TE in the draft to backup and learn from Jason Witten, who is probably the BEST TE in the league.

The 'Boys will be a stout team this year.

I'd argue that Witten isn't the best TE in the league, but it's really all a matter of opinion.  And I don't want to derail Info's thread too much.

If he isn't the best, he's gotta be in the top three.  Gates and D.Clark are pretty damned good too.

Info, you can have your blog back now.  Sorry for bogarting it.   :D

Anyway, we really should have a Fantasy Football discussion thread.

Well *I* didn't take any (I tried to get a shot of OJ with my iPhone), but there are many here

http://www.flickr.com/photos/tags/bwe08/

There are 4k photos there. A couple are of me, somewhere...

I was "interviewed" by AllVoices.com - why I don't know.
