Paul Davis grew up about 6 houses down from me.  I wonder if it's the same guy.

It's safe to assume that any song is a Manilow song, because 75% of the time you'll be correct.

Him and Willie Nelson too.  Willie's written hundreds of songs that have been picked up by other artists, sometimes decades after the fact.

The immagrant song (made famous by led zeppelin)
Desire (made famous by U2)
Unbreak my heart (made famous by toni braxton)
Thriller (made famous by Michael Jackson)
You Oughta Know (made famous by Alanis Morrisette)
Never Gonna Give you Up (made famous by rick astley and the entire internet)
Who let the dogs out (baja men?)
All Star (made famous by Smash Mouth in every crappy movie since 1998)
And many others.

These two I'd heard about.  But are the other ones actually true?

None of them, to the best of my knowledge, were written by Willie Nelson.  If the first two are true it speaks to the veracity of your statement, as I thought of two random 70-80's era country songs off the top of my  head.

Stand by Your Man was written by Tammy Wynette and Billy Sherrill.

And I Was Country was written by Kye Fleming.

I'm thinking of the Patsy Kline song Crazy not Wynette.  Though to be fair, I don't know shit about country music.

I think we can all agree, though, that Willie nelson singing the immigrant song would be awesome.
