So, how do you kids and your indie music and myspaces and America Onlines feel about "Vampire Weekend"? My friend in Brooklyn told me about them and then laster that day I coincidentally heard a blurb about the band on NPR. They are Austin City Limits potential band, so that is some triple hipster cred. I broke down and downloaded it from Itunes. Not bad catchy, light pop with academic lyrics and a weird classical chamber sound (Oxford Comma).
i've only heard the couple songs they play on alt nation. mansard roof, and a-punk.
both are pretty good. not something i'd have to rush out to get, but if i were at target, and they were on the "what's new in alternative" shelf, i'd probably pick it up.

I don't get the indie pop thing. If pop is what you want, the mainstream has plenty.
The other day, or a few weeks back, when I posted about some bands I'd heard about, this band was one of them, but I couldn't remember the name. So really, I get the indy cred for having heard of them first. Suck on that, Catchr.

its more of semantical thing mislabeling? I don't think Vampire Weekend or like Band of Horses has much in common with Lil Wayne Featuring Static Major
oh yeah

Indy cred? I think Hatt probably has the most of that?
Not any more. I'm probably the closest to Indy now. No, I guess nishi has me beat by about 30 miles.
I'll be driving through Indy on my way to the west coast. I can stop and ask about the pop scene when I'm there if you want me to.
I love that t-shirt.

The new Band of Horses disc is really good. eo000 will back me up on that.
