Title: Perfect midnight snack
Post by: Jessie on July 07, 2007, 11:23:49 PM
BLT with turkey bacon and a tomato that I picked from my mom's garden tonight, on oat bran toast, with pringles and kool aid.  Yummmm.

I'd have to go shopping for some of that.  At least I have 2.5 hours to get that done.

Home grown tomatoes are the best thing ever. They totally deserved that song about them.

We used to grow them.  I don't know why we stopped.

The plants are hard to pack and drag all over the country.

I thought only potatoes grew in Idaho.

We grew tomatoes once.  Clearly, we did it wrong as all the tomatoes became ripe at the same time and we had no hopes of eating/giving away all of them.

None of the potatoes grown in Idaho on farms are available in grocery stores raw.  We get ours from Oregon and Washington.

From what I understand, OreIda and McDonalds use all of the Idaho potatoes.

Yes, it would be hard to pack and move them.  We are around long enough in one place to get one season, though.  I don't have grass (yet) in the back yard.  Maybe it is time.

When I get a yard, I'm going to attempt a garden.  Tomatoes, beans, varied herbs and spices, and maybe some watermelon.  And corn.  And... I'm hungry.

I haven't had breakfast yet.  I am watching Playhouse Disney with Andy while he is playing with his trains.  Maybe I should eat.

I had planned to make my garden half again as big this year.  *sigh*   When I went by the old house yesterday I saw that my butterfly bushes and my be balm plant were all blooming.  It looked pretty.

The term "turkey bacon" is clearly a misnomer. Similar to "turkey burger" in many ways.

Beef and pork are very upset with the whole situation.

All turkey pseudo meats are much better than I expected when I first tried them.  I only buy turkey burger and turkey bacon now.  Turkey ham is also quite tasty.

At least the term meatball is generic enough to be acceptable. Turkey ham is not. Jessie, why do you hate America?

Doesn't really seem to be a very well-balanced meal.
