Title: Nursery Paintings
Post by: Alice on June 15, 2007, 09:40:44 AM
So, I'm wanting to make some paintings for my friends that just had their second boy.  I was thinking of a set of 3 paintings... but don't want to do super boy things like firetrucks and tools.   And maybe some art they can have in their room for awhile.  But I'm drawing a blank.  Any thoughts?

Babies like boobs.

Boys  like boobs.

Men like boobs.

A painting of boobs will bring a lifetime of pleasure.

Trains?  Like real trains, not Thomas the Tank Engine trains.

Or traditional Winnie the Pooh.

I don't want to just copy someone else's work.

What about a mom or dad animal with two babies?  But really bright and not so much detailed as graphic art.

Spaceships. You can't go wrong with spaceships.

Something bright would be good- Maybe one painting with mom & dad and two babies, and the other two of just babies?

I heard once that babies like pictures of faces - but only faces that look like real faces, not abstract faces.  This may or may not be true.

Hmmm... I don't know if I can paint faces that look like real faces.  I did a self portrait once and my mom told me it looked like Alfred E. Newman.

I gotta go with "Bitchin' Camaro."    That's what I would've wanted.

robots!

I'm on a robot kick.  I want to decorate my living room with old robot posters, and I even carved an image of a sad robot on a piece of wood for my brother.  make little baby robots with robot dogs and robot cats, playing with robot toys!

clowns

No seriously, I think some muted earth tones and pictures of nature and animals would be peaceful and help the baby connect with earth or some shit.

Ever play MAD, The Card Game?  It's so much fun....especially when you have been drinking.
