Title: OMG Puggle!
Post by: ReBurn on May 18, 2007, 08:52:57 PM
we got a Puggle today. Half Pug half Beagle. He's 8 weeks old. Apparently that's a new breed, because he's got papers and all. But that won't matter, since he's going to get fixed.

Now we have 3 dogs. We're on the brink of being people that other people talk about.

When I can find the camera I'll take a picure. For now, imagine Beagle with bug-eyes and curly tail.

OMG!!!  Pug puppies and Beagle puppies are like at war over who is the cutest puppy and you have both in one dog.  I am so jealous!

Yes. That was the first thing to get lost. Why do you think I had to buy a card reader?

My laptop doesn't. And I'm sure not going all the way to the other room to use the one back there.

Is he housebroken?  What's the red thing on the floor next to the chair?  Do you have a plaid sofa?
Title: Re: OMG Puggle!
Post by: ReBurn on May 22, 2007, 09:42:10 PM
He's not quite housebroken, but he's only made two messes inside since Friday.

The red thing is one of those folding video chairs that the kids sit in when they play video games.

Yes, the sofa is plaid. It's new, too. Only a month or so old.

What color is the room?  Do you have those little tv table thingies that slide underneath of the couch?  I don't, but my mother-in-law does.  They look neat, but the surface area is disappointingly small.  Do the other dogs like Wylie?  Do each of the kids now have their own dog?
Title: Re: OMG Puggle!
Post by: ReBurn on May 22, 2007, 09:50:17 PM
The room is a very, very light shade of what I would call yellow, but I know that's not the name of the color. Because that would be too easy. We only have one TV table thingie, but that stays in my daughter's room. The other dogs do not like Wylie at present. But they are no longer scared of him, so progress. The dogs don't actually pay much attention to the kids unless the kids are eating. Scooter, the big one, is lazy and is always asleep. The smaller one is usually sitting on my lap.

This is a picture of the other dogs. I have no idea who took it or why it is in black and white. Apparently it was taken while we were remodeling, because there is sheetrock dust on the gas log mantle and the molding isn't nailed down properly.

What's the smaller one's name?  Is that a Pekinese?  Who walks these dogs?  Do you do it?  Or the kids.  I'd make the kids do it.  How often do you turn on the gas log?  Did you dust off or burn off the sheetrock dust?  Those dogs look really forlorn.  You should give them cookies.  Dog cookies, not people cookies.  I'm not a dog fan, but I'm not mean.

The smaller one's name is Fabian. My daughter named him. He's half Pekingese, half Pomeranian. All stupid. These dogs run freely in the back yard, but the children do walk them. The gas log was on all of twice this winter. Mostly because the gas guy took too long hooking it back up after we were done remodeling. Even though it was dusted, there was still quite a bit of dust on it when we lit it up. Because it smelled terrible. The dogs were probably scared of the camera. Neither of them is very brave. That's what happens when you get them neutered, I guess. They get lots of dog cookies. Especially since there's a new puppy.

Was your house a fixer-upper or did you just do a lot of remodeling for style purposes or are you a flipper or are you updating it for sale purposes?
Title: Re: OMG Puggle!
Post by: ReBurn on May 22, 2007, 10:21:54 PM
A combination of all of that. This house is getting too small for us, so we did some work to open up the main living areas so that it at least seemed bigger. We also needed to do some updating because it needed it. I have more work to do because at some point in the near future I intend to sell it.

Do your kids all have theme rooms?  Do they all have separate rooms?  Do you have bunk beds?  You should make your daughter a room that recreates an old-timey drive-in movie theater in honor of her upcoming car dates.  That would be really cool.

My kids do not have theme rooms. The boys share a room. They have bunkbeds, but currently they are not in bunkbed position. My daughter designed her own room. It has purple and yellow and red and pink and orange colors all over the place. It is very tacky, but she's 12. She's never going to have a car date until after she's married.

THEME ROOMS!

You should hang the bunk beds from chains like we did in the dorms.  Well, I didn't hang my bed, but other people did.  Then you can have these hanging bunk beds and what's better than that?  I can't think of a thing other than car dates.

if your bed is on the top bunk and you have a mean sister that likes to sneak into your room and scare you whilst you are trying to sleep, causing you to jump up and hit your head on the ceiling, it can be not fun.

My brother and I had bunk beds at my mom's house briefly after my parents separated the first time.  My mom made up a schedule of who got the top bunk.  I didn't like the bottom bunk, so I'd kick at the bottom of the top bunk and generally be really friggin annoying and eventually resort to actually pushing the entire top bunk up and over the side until my brother let me have it on his turns.  He was little then, so he couldn't do the same.  He grew to love the bottom bunk.

I'm really excited to go see him this weekend.

No.  Sicko.

Also, his new girlfriend has a really icky dog.  So far, that's the only strike against her.

Kicking is cheaper and more effective.

Open a two-way dialogue of mutual respect and understanding with your dog.  Bring up concise talking points about how biting puts barriers into your relationship.  And how biting is ultimately counterproductive for all parties involved.

Do this at a coffee shop
