and bolts for Tuscaloosa for the Alabama Crimson Tide job. What a suck-hole!! This really pisses me off. At this point, I say good riddance. The only problem is that my favorite team is up shit creek with relatively few quality coaches available that are actually capable of turning around a once proud franchise that has now missed the playoffs for 5 straight years.

Nicky boy was getting some serious flame on Fark today. People are not happy.
it takes TIME to build up a team. Miami didn't want a superbowl right away from him, they were willing to let him make the program the way he wanted and take as long as he needed.
I already didn't like him becasue of what he did to LSU, but this is low. It's all about the $ for him
welcome to the club

Now if only someone who was a Toledo fan would chime in, we'd have covered most of the guy's career.
I hope Alabama continues to lose to Auburn now. Partly because I disliked the Tide anyway but now for this reason too.
We were talking about this at work yesterday. If LSU loses every game next year, but beats Saban at Bama, it will be a good year.

Hell yeah!!!
PS. I think your boy JaMarcus Russell might make a pretty good pro QB soon. My GOD, I didn't know how big he was!! 6-6, 250-265 depending on which media outlet you're reading and the guy makes ALL the throws. I watched him closely last night and he made rocket throws into tight spaces and made gorgeous touch throws over the linebackers but under the safeties. Man, he's an excellent player.
Right now he is very under-rated nationally but come draft time in April, his name will loom as large as his frame. I could see him as a top 15 pick in the draft, maybe higher if he grades out well in workouts and at the Combine in February.
According to him he is 256. One big mofo and some serious talent.
a QB at 256? Good God.
but did you hear him talk last night? I've never heard him interviewed before. I didn't realize he sound so much like .... shaq

That's not a good sign. He can't be too much worse than Vince Young who comes off like a retarded person.

What I want to know is this: If he has a history of doing this, why would anyone hire him? I certainly wouldn't throw a pile of money at someone who I feared was going to stay for 2 years and then bolt when an offer for more money came.
if someone were to come to your work and offer you more money to do your job for another business wouldn't you do it? that's all he's doing. each step along the way, he's offered a ton more money. i can't knock the guy for that.

He also lied about it- To his bosses and the public. There comes a point where the money would be enough that he could afford such a luxury as integrity.
All I'm saying is, i wouldn't hire him because there's nothing saying he wouldn't do the same to me.
Everyone here is bent out of shape because Petrino is leaving. People are PISSED.
I wish Mangino would leave.
